Many corporations have an interest
and a role in ensuring the health of
the repair and service industry even though
they may not be directly involved in automotive
repair. Sponsorship provides an opportunity
to demonstrate support without the responsibilities
and costs of membership.
A sponsorship application is available. Complete
the application according to the instructions
provided and return it to the MAPC office for
processing.
Why do we need the Motorist Assurance Program and what is it again?
- 2 billion dollars of repair and service work is left unperformed each year in Canada.
- Motorists believe the industry tries to sell them jobs that are not needed. Service and repair is a grudge purchase.
- Low level of motorist trust in automotive service providers (ASP’s) and low understanding of the benefits of maintenance.
The onus is on the industry itself to build consumer confidence and it can do so by working to the industry standards of inspection and communication provided by the Motorist Assurance Program. By doing so, more of that annual $2bn in unperformed repair and maintenance work will be transformed into parts and labour sales.
Who should be a MAP Sponsor?
Sponsorship of the Motorist Assurance Program is open to companies not directly linked to automotive service providers through ownership, franchise, banner or buying group programs. Sponsors that may benefit commercially from the successful implementation of MAP include:
